By July 27, 2021New Releases, News

President Barack Obama’s memoirs Dreams From My Father will be released in a young adult edition.

Marking 25 years since its original publication in 1995, before Obama held any political office Dreams From My Father will be rereleased by Random House Children’s Books, and will include a new introduction by the former US president.

Dreams from My Father has sold over 7 million copies worldwide and has been translated into more than 40 languages.

The book shows Obama’s journey of self-discovery as a young person through to adulthood, as he tries to lead a life of authenticity and purpose while staying true to his roots and connected with his history.

“The young man you meet in these pages is flawed and full of yearning, asking questions of himself and the world around him, learning as he goes,” Obama writes. “I know now, of course, that this was just the beginning for him. If you’re lucky, life provides you with a good long arc.”

As well as the new introduction, this edition includes a full colour photo insert and a family tree.

The book will be released on October 5th 2021.
