5 Books that Charles Darwin Would Recommend

By February 12, 2016November 23rd, 2018Authors, Discussion and Recommendations

If he were alive today (probably)

Charles Darwin was born on 12th February 1809, and is considered to be the forefather of the theory of evolution. The Origin of the Species is one of the earliest contributions to evolutionary theory and is widely read, still today.

Since then, many books have been written on evolution, the universe and life on earth, and beyond so we’ve chosen 5 books that we imagine Darwin may recommend if he were here today. For contrast, and to show how Darwin affects science even today, we’ve chosen books published since 2000.

The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution

Dawkins had to be included on any list, and this well written and concise book is great for the popular audience. It’s easily the best modern day book on the science of evolution.

In all honestly we have no idea what Darwin might be reading if he was around today, though I’m sure he’d find the technology delightful and the ongoing destruction of our planet disgraceful, but who knows?
