For Reading Addicts Book of the Year 2015

Last year just for fun we started a little poll on our page to see what your favourite books were for the previous year. In 2014 you voted for The Goldfinch making it our book of the year and this year we’ve done it all over again to find your favourite book of 2015.

Thanks to everyone who voted, we have a top ten list and this year two books share the top spot with an equal number of votes. Both the selected books have been chosen by our Cwts Club throughout the year and both have created quite a buzz! Here’s the list.

A Man Called Ove – Fredrik Backman

In joint top spot for book of the year is the book that got you all emotional this year, as Ove decides the best way to kill himself. It was a firm favourite on the page, and I loved it too!

Career of Evil – Robert Galbraith

The third novel in the Cormoran Strike series was released earlier this year, and personally I couldn’t put it down. Really great book and well deserving of a place in this list.

Go Set a Watchman – Harper Lee

Joining that is the most anticipated novel of the year, maybe of all time as Harper Lee broke her ‘one hit wonder’ status with another novel, released in a cloud of controversy.

The Martian – Andy Weir

The last four books of our top ten all received an equal number of votes, and they start with The Martian. Released a couple of years ago in eFormat, the book finally hit hardback status this year along with the movie release.

The Girl With All the Gifts – M. R Carey

‘Not you usual zombie novel’ is how this one has been described and it’s found a place in many of our polls and reading lists all year.

Two Brothers – Ben Elton

Two Brothers was my choice for book of the year, a really great novel set in WWII fuelled partly by Elton’s old family history. I’m a great fan of the author and his latest work did not disappoint.
