Hit of the Lits – FRA Top 40

We’re starting a brand new monthly feature here at For Reading Addicts! Hit of the Lits will be a monthly top 40 chart based on the books you read this month. For those who saw and replied to our poll question this month, thank you. There were over 1,300 replies with around 500 books mentioned in all! December’s post will go up on our Facebook page on the 20th of the month so you can vote for next month’s book then.

Just like the charts, we’ll have a Top 10 featured, and then the full Top 40, and we’ll feature all the ‘shakers and movers’ each month. And just like the music charts, it’s unlikely to be just new releases that feature as events in popular culture push books to the top of your reading pile, and perennial books that stay popular forever.

1

November 9 – Colleen Hoover

Miss Peregrine Series – Ransom Riggs

5

Song of Ice and Fire Series – George R. R. Martin

Martin hasn’t released a new novel since 2011, maybe it’s the prequel release A Knight of Seven Kingdoms that has you all reading the series, or maybe given the verbosity of the author, you’re still trying to get through it all.

The Girl on the Train – Paula Hawkins

This is probably the book that has most divided our page this year. You love it, you hate it, you love it but you hate the characters, you wanted to defenestrate the whole thing! Enough of you love it to put it in November’s top ten though!

A Man Called Ove – Fredrick Backman

The heart warming story that has had our reading group ablaze with chat all year comes in at number 9, it seems you all love Ove! Backman’s second novel also came in at number 89, not making the top 40 but worth a mention.
