Five Books the President Elect Should Read

By November 14, 2016Reading Habits

The election is over and the race for the presidency has been won; Donald Trump is the President Elect of the United States and he is going to lead the world superpower for at least the next four years.

So what will he be doing right now? Packing a few essentials ready for the move to the Whitehouse no doubt, having his post redirected and checking out where the best restaurants are of course but other than that he is going to be doing some serious swotting up on his new job and we all know that that is going to include a lot of reading- but what books should he be looking for? Well we here at For Reading Addicts have a few lighthearted suggestions for the five books the President Elect should read before taking office.

How to be President – Stephen P Williams

Covering everything from who does the President’s laundry to known secret passages, how to read a teleprompter to where to sit and how to shake hands at state dinners; everything you need to know about being POTUS is here in this book. With plenty of historical snippets about presidential gaffes, favourite holiday destinations and presidential pets to be found in the sidebars this is a quick, fun and informative read for anyone including the President Elect.

American Politics For Dummies – Matthew Alan Hill

Despite coming from a completely non political background Trump has reached the Whitehouse to the amazement of many political experts. Now he is there he is going to have a steep learning curve when it comes to proper protocol and what better than a For Dummies How To guide when time is of the essence and the world is waiting for you to balls it all up.

Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus – John Gray

With the political glass ceiling well and truly smashed and many senior political roles being held by women (not to mention the odd Queen here and there) Mr Trump is going to have to rein in his ‘locker room’ talk  and should he ever attempt a ‘pussy grab’ on a certain Angela Merkel I imagine he’ll get more than a slap for his troubles so what better than a guide to life and relationships with the opposite sex, especially one written by a man?

How to Build Dry-Stacked Stone Walls – John Shaw-Rimmington

The President Elect built his campaign on the promise of a huge wall separating America and Mexico but if he is serious about stopping Mexico being overrun with fleeing Americans then he will need to learn how to build a good solid structure.

I think that with the knowledge imparted by these five books that Trump’s presidency should run fairly smoothly but if not he can always look for a book on how to live off grid.
