Official Girl on the Train Trailer Released

By July 19, 2016News, Video

The Psychological Thriller opens on October 7th

The must read book of last year, Girl on the Train was always a good candidate for a movie adaptation as it was, and still is, so popular with readers. The book divided the For Reading Addicts community with equal love/hate votes, but it was one of the most talked about books of 2015 and when it was announced that there was to be an adaptation no one in the know was surprised!

What we are surprised it as that they’ve taken the London setting and dropped it all in the USA for the movie, and this for some readers will be a disappointed. The book conjures up quite strong images of suburban London and readers have a very clear mind’s eye view of how it should look. The new American suburban location and aesthetics jar with me and it’s likely other readers will feel the same, given how critical readers often are of adaptations, even the best ones.

That said, I’ll be watching and I can’t wait to see how this rollercoaster psychological thriller translates to the screen! Let’s hope they haven’t changed the actual story line too much. Here’s the official trailer, released this week:

If you haven’t yet read the book then the race is now on to read before the movie release!
