Word of the Day – Lacuna

Lacuna (noun)

An unfilled space; a gap: A missing portion in a book or manuscript.

I prefer the plural of this particular WotD; lacunae is one of those words that just rolls off the tongue in such a pleasing manner.

Example sentences

“The plot of the novel is so filled with lacunae that it becomes comedic rather than thrilling.”

“My Geography text book has a large lacuna where the chapter on Wales should be.”
