Twilight author announces new release out in August

Twilight author Stephenie Meyer had a countdown clock on her website for a while, prompting fans to wonder what she was planning- a new book, a new movie adaptation, a change of website?

As the clock hit zero Stephenie announced her big news: she has written a new book! 13 years after her first novel, this one looks like a new take on her vampire series. The last book series focussed on Bella’s point of view while this new release will be all about Edward, in a darker, twistier novel. Readers will learn fascinating details about Edward and his past, his complex inner thoughts, and his struggles as a forever-teenage vampire.

Writing on her website, Meyers has explained her decision to release the book after over a decade of Twilight madness:

“Working on a book for more than thirteen years is a strange experience. I’m not the same person I was then. My children have all grown up. My back got weird. The world is a different place. I can only imagine all the things that have changed for you. But completing Midnight Sun has brought back to me those early days of Twilight when I first met many of you. We had a lot of fun, didn’t we? Throwing proms and hanging out in hotel rooms and reading on the beach (while getting the most epic sunburns of our lives). We made hilarious t-shirts and fabulous websites. We found kindred spirits that are still in our lives now. I hope going back to the beginning of Bella’s and Edward’s story reminds you of all that fun, too.”

The book is out on August 4th 2020- pre-order your copy now!

“When Edward Cullen and Bella Swan met in Twilight, an iconic love story was born. But until now, fans have heard only Bella’s side of the story. At last, readers can experience Edward’s version in the long-awaited companion novel, Midnight Sun.

In Midnight Sun, Stephenie Meyer transports us back to a world that has captivated millions of readers and brings us an epic novel about the profound pleasures and devastating consequences of immortal love.”

Are we sure she and E.L. James aren’t the same person? Sure sounds like the same path taken with those horrible books that people seem to think are so wonderful.
