“A fascinating second-hand/antique bookshop housed in a gorgeous Victorian building “

Scrivener's - Buxton

Housed in a gorgeously quirky old building, Scrivener’s will  surprise you with just how huge it is inside. Spread over five whole floors, the second hand and antiquarian books are stuffed into every nook and cranny from the cellar all the way up to the loft space and there is something for everyone to be found upon its shelves.

Started by Alastair Scrivener in 1997 the building retains many of its original features with an old range and sink still remaining in the cellar, where a museum has been set up to give shoppers a taste of the building’s history.

Not only do they have all that but they also offer bookbinding services, will value any antique books you may have and bespoke hand-made books and albums can be made to order.

Scrivener’s is also the host to many events and you can check what is upcoming on their website.
