Our literary advent calendar is coming to its last few days now, and over the month we’ve had a stack of literary excerpts, quotes and poems. We hope you’ve enjoyed the series, today we’re featuring The Snowman by Raymond Briggs a magical children’s book and a magical movie too.
The Snowman was the children’s story of my childhood, so much so I got to sing the song from the movie with Aled Jones as part of my school choir. Today there are several books in the series so instead of an excerpt to read we have a special treat for you, as Benedict Cumberbatch reads from the Snowman and the Snowdog.
The entire series of books is absolutely beautiful and makes perfect Christmas reading for children, and adults too.
