Do you know anyone who’s written a brilliant young adult novel? If so you may want to give them the heads up as submissions open for the YA Book Prize 2018.
The YA Book Prize has been running in the UK and Ireland since 2014, and serves to champion the breadth and brilliance of Young Adult writing. The deadline is a couple of months away yet so authors have time to prepare!
To be eligible to enter you must be the author of a book written for young adults, published during 2017. Then, simply fill in the submission form via the Bookseller page, and send 10 titles of your submitted book to The YA Book Prize, The Bookseller, 10th Floor, Westminster Tower, 3 Albert Embankment, London, SE1 7SP before 8th December!
If you are an author of young adult novels, or you know an author of young adult novels, then it’s time to organise those submissions and get them in!
The 2017 of the YA Book Prize is Patrice Lawrence who was crowned winner at this year’s Hay Festival. Her debut novel Orangeboy (US – UK) is described as a ‘timely thriller’, and went on to become a bestseller as well as picking up the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize for Older Children.
This year’s shortlist will be announced in the spring and as ever we’ll be waiting to bring you all the news of the shortlisted novels.
