“In an effort to match the fun between the pages, the Mexican branding studio Anagrama transformed the interior of a local heritage site into Niños Conarte, a geometric mountain range of literature.”

Conarte Library - Monterrey, Mexico

Conarte is the Council for the Culture and Arts of Nuevo Leon, and they developed a library located in Monterrey, Mexico. Anagrama is also situated in Monterrey (and also Mexico City), the company deals with branding, architecture and software development. The cultural venue, Conarte, approached Anagrama to build a unique reading space within their library, which would “give value to the experience of reading”. The timber design literally engulfs and wraps around the reader, with the shelves simulating a large dome, and the semi-circle at the top of the seats/stairs acting as the vanishing point. The walls are then painted in a green to blue gradient, creating a tranquil environment as well as adding depth to the surroundings. There honestly is no other place on earth which offers such a unique reading experience – you will feel completely detached from the outside world! So if you are in Monterrey, don’t miss the opportunity to spend a few hours in the literary cocoon.
