The 2019 winner is Ian W. Sainsbury scooped the £20,000 literary cash prize and was named winner of the 2019 Kindle Storyteller award for his first psychological thriller, The Picture on the Fridge.

The 50-year-old author, from Beccles has been writing since 2016 and is an established science-fiction author, but The Picture on the Fridge is his first psychological thriller.

This is one award where readers play a significant role in selecting the winner based on downloads and reviews. A panel of industry experts, and celebrity judge Mariella Frostrup announced the prize at the Library in Covent Garden this week.

As well as the massive £20,000 prize fund, Sainsbury will receive a marketing campaign to support the book on Amazon.co.uk, and will have the chance to get the book translated for a global audience. And in a new addition for 2019, the finalists and winning titles from all Kindle Literary Awards around the world will be evaluated by a panel of experts from Amazon International Originals, and one will be selected to work with Amazon Studios for a potential adaptation!
