Benedict Cumberbatch stars in a new television series adapted from a critically acclaimed novel on Showtime.
Cumberbatch will play Patrick Melrose, the titular character of the new series, adapted from the Man Booker Prize shortlisted author Edward St Aubyn’s novels.
Melrose, the main character, struggles with the damage caused by a horribly abusive father and a mother who tacitly condoned his behaviour. Each episode, written by BAFTA nominee David Nicholls, is devoted to one of the five novels.
The series will also star Jennifer Jason Leigh and Hugo Weaving as the parents of Patrick Melrose.
The SHOWTIME and Sky Atlantic series will be directed by Edward Berger.
Catch new episodes of Patrick Melrose Saturdays at 9pm ET/PT only on SHOWTIME.
