Abibliophobia (noun) (humorous)
uh-bib-li-uh-fo-bee-yuh
a real and profound phobia of running out of reading material
A little research tells me it’s a new word and is probably as old as the Internet. It seems somehow ironic that a word invented to impress a love of reading should be coined on the Internet.
It’s not listed in Oxford English Dictionary, but fun all the same.
Example sentences
“When I look at my bookshelf abibliophobia gets me into a blind panic.”
“My abibliophobia is never improved, no matter how many unread books I have on the shelf.”
