Earlier this year, actor Taron Egerton starred as famed musician Elton John in the hit biopic Rocketman. The film, and Egerton’s role as the singer, was met with critical acclaim, but it looks like Egerton’s not quite left the world of Elton John just yet. It has been announced that the young thespian will be narrating an audiobook of Elton john’s upcoming autobiography, entitled Me.
As The Book Seller reports, Egerton has said he feels “honored” to be narrating the audiobook, which will also feature Elton John himself. “Elton John is a fascinating man, at times incredibly intimidating and yet very vulnerable; I have never met anyone like him,” said Egerton. “I was passionate about my role as Elton in the movie Rocketman and this feels like the perfect closing chapter to the whole experience. I am honoured to have been asked to narrate Elton’s autobiography and I’m excited to get started.”
The biography will chronicle John’s success in the music industry, his struggles with addiction, and how he found love with David Furnish and became a father. The book will be published by Pan Macmillan and will be released on October 15 in both physical, audiobook, and eBook versions.
