Those of you who enjoy the adventures of the world’s most famous Spy will be pleased to learn that famed writer Anthony Horowitz is set to publish a new James Bond novel which will serve as a prequel to the first book Casino Royale, and will be an origin story for the notorious secret agent.
Horowitz will be using original material written by James Bond creator Ian Fleming to write his second Bond book which will be called Forever and a Day. The book will be published by the original Bond publisher Jonathan Cape, and is set to be released sometime in May. The novel is available for you to pre-order right now.
As MI6-HQ reports, Horowitz has said:
“I couldn’t have been happier when the Ian Fleming estate invited me back to write a second Bond. I very much enjoyed writing Forever and a Day, exploring what might have been Bond’s first mission and imaging some of the forces that might have turned him into the iconic figure the whole world knows. I hope Ian Fleming would have approved.”
A brief excerpt from the book reads:
“M laid down his pipe and stared at it tetchily. “We have no choice. We’re just going to bring forward this other chap you’ve been preparing. But you didn’t tell me his name.”
“”It’s Bond, sir,” the Chief of Staff replied. “James Bond.””
Horowitz’s first Bond book was published in 2015 and was called Trigger Mortis. It has been rumoured since then that he might write a second novel and how it is finally confirmed. Horowitz took to Twitter earlier today to confirm the news.
FOREVER AND A DAY. I know the news has broken but it feels so great to be able to tweet the words which I’ve been secretly living with.
