An American artist has created an array of counterculture books from modelling clay!
Seth Bogart grew up in Tucson, Arizona during the 1990s where, as a gay kid and reading addict, he read all the time and created his own ‘zines’ about punk and queer culture. Reading counterculture books distracted him through any difficult moments in high school, and went on to influence his work as an artist. As a visual artist, Bogart’s works have been exhibited in galleries throughout the USA.
His recent show, Library Fantasy Vol One , at New York’s Fierman Gallery paid tribute to those books that he loved so much: “It’s like a dream, smutty library or fantasy book store,” he says.
