“Robert James Waller is one of the most descriptive writers, magnificent!”
NO MAJOR SPOILERS
Carlisle McMillan is searching for a place. A place away from the grinding gears of progress. Has he found what he’s looking for in Yerkes County? A place of wide open spaces and mysterious buttes, Salamander seems to be perfect for the wandering master carpenter to finally settle. But what happens when government and big business threaten to take it all away?
Robert James Waller has done it again! With his smooth writing and excellent descriptive prose he paints a picture so realistic you feel as if you could step right into it.
I have admitted this before and I’ll say it again…I have a habit of judging books by their covers. Waller is not an author I would have searched out before I read The Long Night of Winchell Dear. Now he is near the top of my “must read everything he wrote” list.
