Founded by Katharine Thalberg in 1975 and run by her until her death in 2006 Explore Booksellers is probably one of the prettiest bookstores you’ll ever come across and every single inch of its Victorian home has been turned over to books and bookish things.
With books tucked away in every imaginable nook and cranny that this quaint Victorian building has to offer, a trip to Explore Booksellers feels less like a shopping trip and more like a treasure hunt.
If that’s not enough have a wander upstairs and you will find the Explore Bistro, a vegetarian eatery which when opened by Katharine in 1989 was the sole vegetarian restaurant in Aspen.
