“Coffee and crepes with a side of art and literature, please.”
Ezo Bistro
While not strictly a bookshop, Ezo Bistro demands its inclusion in our bookish place section! Tucked in between all the newsagents and businesses at Barking Station this is the perfect place to pop in to if you’re of the artistic nature.
Ezo is listed as a bistro and it certainly fits the bill but it’s so much more than that. Cafe, bistro, meeting place, intellectual hub, gallery, library and music hall would all be words you might use to describe Ezo and they’d all be true. The food comes highly recommended on Trip Advisor, the library is well stocked, and the art is by the local homeless community and is available for sale.
If you’re catching a train from Barking station, set out a bit early, you won’t regret it.
