The Open Door Bookshop, named as a welcome to book lovers is a long standing independent bookshop in Rome, and they specialise in English language literature, which is hard to get in Italy.
Described as a tiny bookshop with the stock of a much larger shop, you get to dig through overstocked shelves for ever changing titles. If you’re a regular visitor, you’ll see a high turnover of stock, which is great as there are always lots of different titles to be found.
The Open Door has been open for 40 years, and is still owned by the original couple who launched the shop.
