This is a little treasure trove of second hand books tucked away in the corner of Birmingham’ s famous Rag Market. It’s stacked floor to ceiling and then some and if you’re in any way claustrophobic I’d perhaps give it a miss. But, if you’re brave and you enjoy a rummage there are some little gems to be found in the piles and mounds stacked in every corner.
The proprietor is a character, he’ll engage with you and have a giggle but don’t be fooled, he knows what he’s got and where he put it!
Books cost around two to three pounds and if you’re buying a few he’s always up for a bit of bargaining, oh and if you bring your purchases back after reading them, it entitles you to a half price book per return.
