The Tattered Cover is an independent bookstore in Denver, Colorado and is thought to be one of the biggest independent bookshops in the entire U.S, stocking more than half a million books. The store opened in 1971 and has gone through many changes, a location change, an expansion and much more and is now an iconic and much loved American bookstore.
The Cherry Creak store (pictured) was the Tattered Cover’s first store but the shop now has several other branches in Denver, though the first store remains the headquarters. You can find details about the other branches on the bookshop’s website, listed below.
The store is open 7 days a week and hosts many events including author events, book signings and more, they also have a cafe so you can stop off and read a few chapters of your new book!
