If you are a fan of Jeanette Walls’ The Glass Castle then we might have some fantastic news for you today as it’s reported that the book is being made into a movie! The coming of age drama follows Jeanette’s life, growing up in impoverished surroundings by inept yet sometimes charming parents.
It’s a fantastic dysfunctional family drama that keeps you gripped to the last page, and while the movie doesn’t always live up to the book, hearing Woody Harrelson, Naomi Watts and Brie Larson are starring, has me pretty excited!
Recently Naomi shared a photo from filming with her ‘Glass Castle’ family, sending fans into a frenzy, and now Entertainment Weekly have shown the first images of the stars before the first trailer is released. Here’s Naomi’s Instagram photo, which runs very close to how I imagine the entire family, especially Woody Harrelson as dad.
It’s not often I see movie stills and have them look exactly how I imagined in the book, and it’s possible that you imagined differently to me, take a look at these first shots (rights to Entertainment Weekly) and see what you think.
The book itself has many fans, and any movie adaptation should do very well. Just last year you voted it your most recommended memoir, leading me to go on and read the book. Now we can only hope that the movie lives up to the book, it looks promising from the first pictures. If you haven’t yet read the book then you can check out a no spoiler review of the Glass Castle here or grab your own copy on the links below.
