As promised, another day another advent calendar snippet as we dedicate the month to poems or excerpts from literature with a festive theme! We’re half way through now and hope that our calendar is getting you all geared up for the festive season. Today we’re going YA!
Today’s snippet is from Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Coh and David Levithan and while it’s aimed at a younger audience, it’s loved by all ages.
Do you love the snow? Who doesn’t!
“I love snow for the same reason I love Christmas: It brings people together while time stands still. Cozy couples lazily meandered the streets and children trudged sleds and chased snowballs. No one seemed to be in a rush to experience anything other than the glory of the day, with each other, whenever and however it happened.”
Dash and Lily may be aimed at youngsters, but if you love the festive season, you love books, and you don’t take yourself too seriously there’s no reason you shouldn’t love it yourself!
We hope you enjoyed today’s advent calendar and we’ll be back tomorrow with another window and another poem, excerpt, or snippet from literature for you!
