HRH Prince William has announced the upcoming release of Earthshot: How to Save Our Plantet in September 2021.
William, Duke of Cambridge, is writing the introduction for Earthshot: How to Save Our Planet, which is centred around the Earthshot Prize, launched by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in 2020.
Co-authored by ex-conservation charity director Colin Butfield, and award-winning producer/director Jonnie Hughes, Earthshot will be published a month before the commencement of the Earthshot Prize awards ceremony this year.
Each year, the Earthshot Prize asks those entering to strive to accomplish at least one of the five Earthshot goals: Protect and restore nature; Clean our air; Revive our oceans; Build a waste-free world; and Fix our climate.
Earthshot: How to Save Our Planet will focus on the award’s five goals and will show “the urgency of the environmental challenges facing our world while also providing readers with inspirational case studies of the incredible solutions happening globally to repair our planet.”
There will also be a five-part BBC One series coming in the Autumn to accompany the book.
Joining Prince William in his involvement will be Christiana Figueres, the former UN Climate Chief responsible for the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, singer Shakira Mebarak, environmental activist Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim, former astronaut Naoko Yamazaki, and broadcaster, historian, and national treasure, Sir David Attenborough.
