“2008 Library of the Year for America!”

Laramie County Library - Wyoming

Laramie County Library, located in Cheyenne, Wyoming was completed in 2008 and won 1st place for U.S. libraries that same year; an accomplishment which was unprecedented.  It is more than a library; it is a community hub.  The teen room has it’s own outdoor balcony, 2 neon study rooms and its own indoor lounge; there is a top of the line genealogy department; the giant chess game in the children’s floor gets a great deal of family action; there is a customized room containing western history books exclusively; there are sound proofed study rooms on both the second and third floors; lounge chairs which give off an aura of Dr. Seuss are throughout the library; it has its own bistro……the list is endless.
