Anne of Green Gables is a favourite children’s book, written by Canadian author Lucy Maud (L.M) Montgomery and published in 1908.
The story is set in the late 19th century, and tells the adventures of Anne Shirley, an 11-year-old orphan girl. Anne is mistakenly adopted by Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert- two siblings- who had originally intended to adopt a boy to help them on their farm. The story follows Anne through her troubles and adventures, joy and trepidation, in her new life at Green Gables.
Many fans of the book and its characters have all picked a favourite: from stern Marilla or quiet Matthew, to the passionate protagonist herself- Anne, but what would each of these family favourites act like during a quarantine lockdown?
