Word of the Day – Lackey

By August 18, 2016Word of the Day

Lackey (noun)

lak-ee

A servant, especially a liveried footman or manservant.

I have to confess that I prefer the derogatory definition: A person who is obsequiously willing to obey or serve another person.

Example sentences

“I thought I was his apprentice, when in fact I was little more than his lackey.”

“If you have the baggage to my lackey he will carry it up to the house.”
