Word of the Day – Pettitoes

By September 21, 2016Word of the Day

Pettitoes (noun)

pet-eet-oh-s

A pig’s trotter, particularly when served as food.

As consuming pigs trotters falls out of popularity, so does the word but I love it! You can eat every part of the pig but it’s oink, didn’t you know.

Example sentences

“He served roasted pettitoes, I could hardly believe it.”

“Many pubs are now serving poor man’s food like pettitoes and calling it rustic gourmet!”
