Author V. E Schwab Talks About Her Experience As a Female Author

By July 5, 2020July 26th, 2020Authors, News

Being an author is a challenging job at the best of times. Up and coming authors have some of the lowest median wages in the world, and then come the challenges of being an author, and being a woman!

For as long as writing has existed, woman authors have had issues with visibility. For hundreds of years women wrote under male pseudonyms, and even today authors are often told to go by their initials so boys don’t realise they are female authors. Jo Rowling was advised to publish Harry Potter under her initials for this exact reason, and it seems that despite us moving on in many areas, being a female author comes with its own challenges.

Here we have a little insight from V. E. Schwab after being an author, being a woman, and how it’s not only the readers who are an issue.
