Since the Autumn of 2016 there has been talk about a Pokemon Go style game coming for Harry Potter fans. The initial announcement turned out to be a hopeful fan with a bit of creative flair but by November 2017, Niantic, and Warner Bros announced that there was indeed a Harry Potter version of Pokemon Go in the works, it would be called Wizards Unite and it would be coming soon.
In November 2018, a whole year on, a teaser trailer for the game was released with a promise that it was coming soon, but ~tumbleweed~ we’ve heard nothing since.
While browsing Facebook yesterday I stumbled across another trailer for the game, and another promise that it is ‘coming soon’. The post went live on the afternoon of 14th May and reads “Why are traces of magic appearing in the Muggle world? Enlist immediately to help uphold the Statute of Secrecy and protect the wizarding world!” but there’s STILL no release date!

As a potential player I have to admit I am growing a little frustrated waiting for the game, and judging by the commens on the video, I am not the only muggle feeling this way!
Rumours have it that some players already have the game in beta version, and some are saying it’s already been released in Australia and New Zealand (Can anyone confirm?), but there’s still no official release date! Watch this space, we’ll bring you more as we have it.

As an Aussie I can confirm that we have the beta version here, I’ve been playing since the start of May. The game is great, and although there are some bugs, it definitely doesn’t have the issues that Pokemon Go had on first release.
They finally revealed that the game will release Friday, June 21st.
