David Cameron’s Memoir to be Published in September

He’ll be forever remembered as the politician who started the farce that has become Brexit, but for a long time before that he was the successful leader of the Conservative party in the UK. Now, he’s written a memoir, For The Record and it will be published later this year by HarperCollins with all profits going to charity.

The former Prime Minister’s memoir will be published on Thursday, 19th September, ten days before the Conservative Party Conference and a month before the new Brexit date.

Cameron was elected the Conservative leader in 2005 with promises to modernise the party following three electoral defeats. In 2010 he became Prime Minister and with the Liberal Democrats formed Britain’s first coalition government for more than seventy years. In the 2015 he won the first outright Conservative majority for twenty-three years and finally stepped down in 2016, one day after the EU referendum.

In For the Record Cameron promises to explain how the governments he led transformed the UK economy while implementing a modern, compassionate agenda that reformed education and welfare, legalised gay marriage, honoured the UK’s commitment to overseas aid and spearheaded environmental policy. The book is also set to shed light on major world events such as the Arab Spring, the rise of ISIS, the invasion of Ukraine, conflicts in Libya, Iraq and Syria, and readers will get to hear for the first time his perspective on the EU referendum and his views on the future of Britain in the light of Brexit.

For The Record will be released on 19th September in the UK.
