Born on October 15th 1881 in Guildford Surrey Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse spent his school years at Dulwich College where he was very happy and to where he remained devoted for the rest of his life. Initially working as a bank clerk he was unhappy and turned to writing in his spare time to alleviate his boredom. Though his first stories focused on school life Wodehouse soon turned to comic fiction and created several characters that became well known to the public including ‘the feather-brained Bertie Wooster and his sagacious valet, Jeeves’.
