Daniel Radcliffe hints at a future Harry Potter remake

By February 25, 2019Adaptations, News

Daniel Radcliffe has said in an interview that he will not ‘close the door’ on Harry Potter, and that he is sure there will be a remake of the movie franchise in the future.

Radcliffe spoke to Hollywood Reporter at a film festival where he has been quoted as saying, “I’m never going to close the door, that would be a stupid thing to do,” and that he is “happy enough and secure enough to let someone else play it.”

IGN further sparked rumours that Radcliffe may play Wolverine in upcoming Marvel movies; Radcliffe said he is not opposed to joining another franchise if the script is good. The world of Harry Potter had such an impact on so many fans that Radcliffe acknowledged how some movie directors may be wary to bring him onboard. With so many characters being recast right now, as well as large franchises such as Lord of the Rings getting their own reboot on television- Daniel pondered about whether the movies that made him famous would get their own reimagining.

Speaking to IGN Daniel said:

“I’m sure there will be some other version of it; I know I’m not the last Harry Potter I’m going to see in my lifetime – we’ve already got a few more,” speaking of Jamie Parker and Gareth Reeves who have played the role on stage in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

“It will be interesting to see how long those films stay… it feels like there’s a sacredness around them at the moment, but that’ll go, the shine will wear off at some point. It’ll be interesting if they reboot them and just do the films again or do a series; I’m fascinated to watch.”
