In early 2017, it was announced that Amazon Video had given the green light for a TV adaptation of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s hit novel Good Omens. Later that year, it was announced that David Tennant had been cast as the demon Crowley and that Michael Sheen would portray the angel Aziraphale. After years of stopping and starting, a TV adaptation finally seemed to be on its way.
As work continued, more cast members were announced. Jon Hamm was cast as Archangel Gabriel, Jack Whitehall as Newton Pulsifer, Miranda Richardson as Madame Tracey, Nick Offerman as the father of Warlock, and Benedict Cumberbatch as the voice of Satan.
We’ve seen some sneak peaks and teaser trailers over the past two years, but now Amazon has unveiled the first full length trailer which gives us an exciting look at what’s to come, and it certainly looks like it’s living up to the high standards of the novel.
Good Omens is set to make its debut on May 31, 2019 on Amazon Prime’s video streaming service. Those who don’t have an Amazon Prime subscription will be able to catch it around six months later when it will air weekly on BBC2. Are you ready for Armageddon?
