NOS4A2 to be Adapted into a Television Series

By December 10, 2016Authors

Great news for fans of Joe Hill’s frightening novel NOS4A2 as news of a prospective television adaptation by AMC is given greater credence. After going quiet for a year, there are stirrings among the Hill fandom that the series is back on track and efforts are being made to bring the project to fruition.

With hugely successful shows such as Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead the news that they are planning an adaptation of Hill’s novel has been met with excitement and anticipation from the author’s fans and although the promised shows are still in the very early stages of being adapted for the screen (i.e. not even written yet) NOS4A2 could just be the next big thing coming out of the AMC studios.

Following the story of a Vic (Victoria) McQueen young woman with an amazing gift for finding things, NOS4A2 accompanies her on her frantic search for her son Bruce who has gone missing. Using her gift Vic understands that the cost to her own health is likely to be immense but nothing can stop a desperate mother’s quest to regain her child, not even a semi immortal psychopath by the name of Charlie Manx.

Kidnapping children in his 1938 Rolls Royce Wraith with the number plate NOS4A2 (Nosferatu for those who’ve not got the symbolism) and hiding them away in a place that doesn’t truly exist Manx drains them of their souls, feeding on them and keeping himself eternally young. Bruce doesn’t have long and Vic is going to have to use everything she has to find him and rescue him before he succumbs to Manx’s foul needs.

I am sure AMC will come to a different conclusion to Hill himself but let’s hope that they produce as good a series as many of their other flagship programmes and Hill’s story is done justice, with Heart-Shaped Box being developed for a film adaptation by Warner Brothers, and his award-winning comic series Locke & Key is also being eyed for television it looks like Hill is going to be a big part of 2017’s TV timetable.
