“A gorgeous debut that conjures one small town and the big emotions of its wealthiest family, the Briscoes, whose saga plays out over six days of pain, rage and love.”

NO MAJOR SPOILERS

Just finished Olympus Texas by Stacey Swan.
The Briscoe family is as dysfunctional as you can get. Peter, the father, is a very successful Real Estate man who also has had a problem of being unfaithful to his wife. They have three children, Thea who is a lawyer, Hap who owns a car repair shop, and March, the black sheep of the family who has been away from home for two years because he was caught cheating with Hap’s wife Vera. Now he is back in town.

Peter has two other children, twins, from another woman in town. Arlo is a successful songwriter and singer and his sister Artie used to manage him, but has stepped away from the business. Arlo now has management problems and needs Artie to come back on the road with him and manage him until he finishes his latest tour. Artie has no intention of doing this because she has fallen in love and doesn’t want to leave town.

A terrible incident occurs which will turn this family inside out. Each character, and other incidental characters will get tied into this family hurricane which may not take any prisoners.
Full of that small town everybody knows everyone and everything, this book becomes a real page turner as the reader gets engulfed into this family’s problems, until you wonder how this will ever work out.
Highly recommended.
