“It was a kidnapping, but in all the wrong ways. No ransom, no demands;
There was nothing they wanted — other than to observe”

NO MAJOR SPOILERS

Housebroken…..what to say? It’s an action packed thriller complete with a bad guy, explosions, kidnapping, guns, car chases…I could go on but I won’t spoil it.

Blake, an IT genius, turns away a lad selling magazine subscriptions, a decision he’ll regret for the rest of his life. This lad Joje turns up the next day with his “brother” Drew and takes Blake, his wife Jenna and his son Adam hostage.

They will be released after seven days if they allow Joje and Drew simply follow them around living their normal lives for that week. Sounds simple? Joje has rules and if rules are broken then punishment is dished out.

What does Joje really want?! And how far is he willing to go to get it? Will Blake and his family make it out alive?

To start with I found the story a little slow but around day 3 turned a corner and it was constant from there to the end. Housebroken is an action thriller. It’s a story that would translate well to the big screen.

Joje had a speech impediment – his name is actually George. This meant some of the dialogue I had to reread to understand what he was saying but I got used to it and I could hear a voice in my head reading the lines with the impediment.

I was a little surprised that I did enjoy this book. The synopsis really appealed but once I’d started it I was a little concerned it was a bit too much action for me. But once I turned into Day 3 and stepped into the runaway train that is Joje’s “pwoject”, I really enjoyed it!

I’d like to thank the author and his publicist for this ebook in exchange for my honest review.
