British Bookshop Owner Raffles Off Business

Paul Morris, owner of the Bookends Bookshop in Cardigan, West Wales has come up with a ‘novel’ way to sell his business, by raffling it off to his customers. The bookshop owner Paul Morris, and his wife Leila are saying goodbye to the Bookends Bookshop after running it for the last four years and they want to give someone else a chance by raffling it off to their customers.

Anyone who visits the Bookends Bookstore in Cardigan between now and the end of August and spends £20 or more will have their name put into Paul’s famous top hat (Paul is a big fan of the Steampunk genre), and in September one lucky winner will be drawn to win the entire lot!

The winner will receive the entire business, the books, all the fixtures and fittings, the big comfy chesterfield sofa people like to sit and read on, and all the customers too!

The couple has decided that they’d like to spend more time with their family, fuelling their decision to sell the shop. While they say the running costs are nominal and the rent is affordable, it’s also a six day a week business, not leaving them much time for anything else.

They feel that the shop is very much part of the community and would rather not close or sell it, and this way hopefully a local customer can carry on all the hard work the Morisses have put into the business in the last four years.

For just £20, one customer is going to win this bookshop, and the only catch is that they then have to run it too.
