Emma Watson has come together with literary movement Books on the Underground and has been sneaking around London, surprising commuters by hiding books around tube stations.
Emma runs the feminist book club, Our Shared Shelf, started earlier this year, and Books on the Underground is a movement that leaves random books at Tube Stations around London for commuters to enjoy. The idea is, that if you find a Books on the Underground novel, you can take it and read it and leave it back on the Underground for others to pick up. Now, the two have got together to hide November’s Our Shared Shelf read, Maya Angelou’s Mom & Me & Mom around Underground stations in London.
Yesterday Emma Watson posted this video on her official Facebook page, she looks like she’s having a lot of fun leaving copies of Angelou’s Mom & Me & Mom for commuters to find! One notable thing about the video is that everyone in London appears to be in such a rush that you can be Emma Watson and still be pushed aside and unrecognised!
Thanks to Books on the Underground, everyone should keep a keen eye when travelling on London’s Underground as you never know when you’ll find a copy of the latest book the organization is giving out. However, right now if you spot a copy of Maya Angelou’s Mom & Me & Mom, you won’t only get a free book, but you’ll also have a book left for you by Emma Watson!

Our Shared Shelf has got off to an amazing start and already they’ve covered some fantastic books with a feminist theme.
We collated the Shared Shelf so far a couple of months ago, and now with Maya Angelou added to the shelf, it’s a reading list worth checking out, even if you don’t want to get involved in the book club itself.
