If you spent your childhood wishing for spotted dick and lashings of ginger beer thanks to the Famous Five books then we have the perfect nostalgic gift for you to look forward to. Later this year Seven Dials publishers will publish a Famous Five Cookery book, designed for grown ups and aimed at the festive market.
These nostalgic books have proven to be Christmas bestsellers and have made Enid Blyton’s creations a global brand once more. Five Go Feasting is billed “the perfect nostalgic gift for Famous Five fans this Christmas”, giving adults the chance relive stories from their youth with food and drinks recipes that are faithful to the books.
The book contains eighty food and drink recipes in all, under headings such as Jolly Good Breakfasts; Perfect Picnics; Scrumptious Suppers; Cracking Cakes and Tasty Treats; and Lashings of Delicious Drinks. Each recipe will be combined with familiar illustrations and quotes from the original books.
Five Go Feasting: Famously Good Recipes will be written by food writer Josh Sutton and published on 1st November to tie in with the 50th anniversary of Blyton’s death. It’s likely to appeal to the Christmas market and is very likely to be as popular as the Famous Five parody books released in time for Christmas 2016.
