It’s March already, we hope you are enjoying this year’s challenge and are managing to read along during this difficult time which, here in The UK at least, doesn’t seem to be getting any better.
Just a reminder of this year’s challenge, we wanted to stick to the inclusive style of the 2020 challenge but have different categories. We’re still going to have the three options, Easy, Hard and Super Reader but this year’s monthly category will be “Read Around the World”. Hopefully, this will mean that everyone can join in, whether you read one book a month or three or more!
March’s categories are:-
EASY – ALPHABETICAL CHALLENGE
Read a book with a title that begins with a C or O
I’m not going to list recommendations this year as obviously the amount of books fitting these categories are endless.
HARD – MONTHLY CATEGORY CHALLENGE
Read a book set in or by an author from East Asia
Here are a few suggestions:
The Memory Police – Yoko Ogawa
Pachinko – Min Jin Leeh
Crazy Rich Asians – Kevin Kwan
Snow Flower and the Secret Fan – Lisa See
The Vegetarian – Han Kang
Suggested authors from East Asia included Mi-Ae Seo, Hye-Young Pyun, Kim Young-Ha, Yoko Ogawa, Tan Twan Eng, Masuji Ibuse, Su Tong, Banana Yoshimoto, Hiromi Kawakami.
SUPER READER – READ HARDER CHALLENGE
Read a book with a title beginning with C or O (or both) and read a book set in or by an author from East Asia.
As usual pick a book from our list, pop along to your local book shop or library, order something online or pick up something that’s already in your TBR pile.
Don’t forget to share what you are reading in our Cwts Club Discussion Group.
