September already! How did that happen? We hope you are still enjoying and reading along with this year’s challenge, we know some of you are reading lots of books by the amount you are sharing on the Cwts Discussion Group page.
Just a reminder of this year’s challenge, we wanted to stick to the inclusive style of the 2020 challenge but have different categories. We’re still going to have the three options, Easy, Hard and Super Reader but this year’s monthly category will be “Read Around the World”. Hopefully, this will mean that everyone can join in, whether you read one book a month or three or more!
September’s categories are:-
EASY – ALPHABETICAL CHALLENGE
Read a book with a title that begins with an I or a U.
I’m not going to list recommendations this year as obviously the amount of books fitting these categories are endless.
HARD – MONTHLY CATEGORY CHALLENGE
Read a book set in or by an author from South or Central America.
Here are just a few suggestions:
Perfect Days – Raphael Montes
One Hundred Years of Solitude – Gabriel Garcia Marquez
The Feast of the Goat – Mario Vargas Llaso
The Golden Horse – Juan David Morgan
Fruit of the Drunken Tree – Ingrid Rojas Contreras
Suggested authors from Central and South America included Jorge Amado, Jorge Luis Borges, Leonardo Padura, Rosa Maria Britton, Jorge Edwards, Julio Cortazar, Gabriela Mistral, Pablo Neruda.
SUPER READER – READ HARDER CHALLENGE
Read a book with a title beginning with I or U (or both) and read a book set in or by an author from Central or South America.
As usual pick a book from our list, pop along to your local book shop or library, order something online or pick up something that’s already in your TBR pile.
Don’t forget to share what you are reading in our Cwts Club Discussion Group.
