The Handmaid’s Tale has been renewed for a 4th season! The bad news is that the series won’t be arriving on our screens any time soon.
The Handmaid’s Tale actor Elisabeth Moss explained to the press that production on Season 4 is up in the air at the moment due to the COVID19 pandemic. The award-winning drama was set to be filmed and released soon but had to end its filming early along with several other streamed shows.
The dark drama did not get very far into shooting the latest season when it had to shut down, Moss explains:
“We were only two weeks in, so we actually have an entire season to shoot. We want to go back to work because families have people to support and rent they need to pay, but at the same time no human’s life is worth a TV show. We’re just trying to figure out how to do it safely for everybody.”
It is unclear from her statement when The Handmaid’s Tale will begin shooting for the season again.
Season 4 filming had only just started and the cast and crew still have a lot fo work to do so the series is not close to returning to the air any time soon.
Some good news for fans, however, is that as well as anticipating season 4, there is also a spinoff series to look forward to.
