Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is back!
The Hexagonal Phase is arriving in 2018 on BBC Radio 4 for the 40th anniversary of the popular book/radio play/film/television series. The radio play is based on And Another Thing... by Eoin Colfer, with additional material by Douglas Adams, and adapted and directed by Dirk Maggs.
And Another Thing… was commissioned in 2009 by the Douglas Adams Estate to mark the 30th anniversary of the first novel. It is set to include unpublished material by Douglas Adams, sourced from notebooks full of Hitchiker’s notes that have been kept safe in the library at St. John’s College, Cambridge.

The adventure will be played across six episodes, Simon Jones will reprise his role as Arthur Dent, as he continues on his travels through space and time. Starring alongside Jones will be members of the classic radio, television and stage casts, including Geoff McGivern as Ford Prefect, Mark Wing-Davey as Zaphod Beeblebrox, and Sandra Dickinson as Trillian, as well as special guest stars including Jane Horrocks as Fenchurch. Douglas Adams’ friend, and co-author John Lloyd (of QI creation fame) will be the voice of The Book.
Rumour has it that Professor Stephen Hawking will also make an appearance!
