Jane Austen’s novels have had many adaptations to the big screen and for television but now for something completely different: graphic novels!
Marvel Comics took on the classic period romance-dramas and adapted them for a new generation of reader. Two-time Rita Award-Winner Nancy Butler (author), along with Hugo Petras (artist), adapted the story of Lizzy Bennet and her eccentric family, as they navigate family life, romance, expectations, and those tricky British social norms.
The comics stay true to the original stories and the rich characters, and the accessible nature of comic books means even those wary of 18th century texts can get to grips with the classic novel.
