Artificial intelligence has been programmed to create new words with new definitions.
The elves from BBC’s QI tweeted a link to the website where the AI generates exciting but nonsense words and their AI generated definitions. What is most amazing is the way each word really does sound like an already existing word- and their definitions don’t sound entirely fictional either. Created by Thomas Dimson (@turtlesoupy on Twitter) with source code based on GPT-2 from Transformers, visitors can endlessly generate new words and definitions, and even add their own word and generate an AI definition.
We entered ‘ReadingAddict’ as a new word and the AI created a definition especially for us!
“ReadingAddict: a person who reads books online.”
