It’s been announced that television presenter and host of bookish podcast “Books to Live By” Mariella Frostrup will be joining the judging panel of the Kindle Storyteller Award as it returns for it’s third year.
We brought you the news of this year’s award earlier in the year. The Kindle Storyteller award celebrates independent and newly published work in the English language, published via the Kindle Direct Publishing service.
The winner receives a £20,000 cash prize, and a marketing campaign to support the book on Amazon.co.uk, plus the opportunity to have their book translated for a worldwide audience. Authors have until 31st August 2019 to submit their work for judging and the award shortlist will be decided not only be judges such as Mariella Frostrup but also by readers as the award takes into account customer interest and reviews.
Commenting on her appointment to the judging panel, Frostrup said “I’m incredibly proud to be a part of an endeavour that, at its heart, champions open access to the literary world. Often the arts are perceived to be on a pedestal, out of reach and more of a fantasy than a potential career for the average person. The Kindle Storyteller Award gives both new and established authors the opportunity to tell their stories and have them read by millions.”
Joining her on the judging panel is last year’s winner and author of The Afterlife of Walter Augustus, Hannah Lynn, and bestselling independent authors L. J Ross, and Mark Dawson, and Orna Ross, founder of the Allience of Independent Authors.
